Such a fun competition! 2nd year in a row bringing my daughters out and it’s consistently a good time
Amazing staff! Judges were super into competition
Well organized and friendly staff. Great comp environment
We love Oro. The location was comfortable and the stage was beautiful! Very nice and helpful staff as well.
Oro was a great experience. The music cut out in our studios 1st number and they allowed us to do it again. Very courteous staff.
The ORO dance competition was the best competition my dancer and I have ever experienced. When you first get there, walking on the red carpet and through the ORO arch makes you feel special. They have multiple backdrops and props for photo ops. All the dancers loved doing the photo shoot with props. The announcer was fun, the lighting was great, and the merchandise was awesome. We were there Mother's Day weekend, and they gave out gifts to all the moms. Their team is so fun, kind, and just wonderful. They're willing to help in so many ways. The communication with the staff was top-notch, even when contacting them by email. They made my daughter feel so special as a Golden Ambassador, which meant the world to her. She received an ORO drawstring bag with a bunch of goodies, a free t-shirt, and a free program. No other competition we've been to has had a program like that, and they emphasize dancers' character and community. In a world full of intense competition, this is what you need. A place that is full of joy, community, and understanding. Hands down, if you have the opportunity, I highly recommend bringing your studio to perform at the ORO competition. ~seasoned Dance Mom
It was our first time at ORO and the stage was nice and so was the audio. We look forward to dancing there again!
Love it!
So happy this comp is in Spokane. Great staff and cute merch! Can’t wait to see you in town again
Really loved this competition! They have really nice awards, the trophy is so cool! I love how they also have many different types of awards ; judges choice, costume, choreo, title etc. gives kids lots of chances to win something special. Would definitely like to attend this comp again.
What an amazing competition! Thank you for coming to Spokane!
This is our first time at ORO. I'm very impressed by the friendly judges and announcer. They interacted with the dancers and were very nice and energetic. The awards were amazing and they made the dancers feel very special and parents too! They even gave out Mother's Day gifts to the mom's, birthday gifts to dancers with birthdays, and even something special for the graduating seniors! I like that they do an improv dance off for whatever genre you choose. The stage setup was great ... lots of fun lighting but not distracting for the dancers. Thank you for a great comp...we will be back 👍
This competition was great. It was organized and easy to get in and out. My girls had a great time.
This competition was well organized and flowed really nicely. The staff is also very nice!
it’s so fun and i like the microphone girl
So far things are going smoothly and communication is good
ORO puts on a great show
Ran smoothly.
Great competition! Super friendly staff! Can’t wait to come back!
Friendly and helpful staff. Organized and communicative. Impressed with this comp!
This competition is great
Well run comp - excited for future events.
Well run comp! Very friendly!
Friendliest staff, they were so accommodating and cheerful.
We had so much fun! We loved it!
It's difficult to say if it was the venue that made this competition rough or the competition itself. The venue was one of the worst I have ever been at. The air conditioning wasn't working and that made it grueling. It was hard enough to be in the auditorium with no air circulation, but for the dancer it was a nightmare. My dancer fainted on the stage at one of the awards because it was so hot. The boy dressing room was a real room with plenty of space. So yay! The girl's dressing room situation was a hot mess. It was the second most crowded dressing room I have ever experienced and with no air, it was not a place you wanted to spend even a second in. Parking was tricky at times because it was at a high school that also had a baseball game, soccer game, and some track stuff going on at the same time. Not great. Now for the things that are more in control of the competition. The improv sound clips were a bit too short (could have used 10 more seconds) to get the kids to really move, but I did appreciate that they were encouraged to move around the stage. I also like that they were looking for movement and not tricks. The MC was a lot of personality. I did not appreciate the “asmr” sounds to kill time. It was like nails on a chalkboard to me and to those around me. I think playing some hype up music would be better. The MC also used “if you can hear me clap your hands twice” a lot. Fine for when dealing with the mini’s, but completely not needed when you have the seniors on stage. They do not appreciate being treated like little kids. They also used it on the audience once and I have no idea why. Maybe it was to kill more time? It was getting so hot I can’t fully remember. Finally, the MC was chasing kids around the stage at one awards and made them very uncomfortable and chest bumped a dancer that really did not want to participate at another. Some dancers are very introverted and it puts them in a very uncomfortable position. Really not cool. The competition ran on time until the first awards. I did not watch the first awards, but that is where they lost a lot of time. The competition was at least a half an hour behind after that and was never able to make it up. Audiences like fast awards, especially if an auditorium is hot and stuffy. Now for sound. This competition had the quietest music I have ever been to. It’s kind of nice to not be blasted, but it was too quiet at times. I could easily hear the whispers of the audience all around me. Also, my dancer could not hear the music to dance to at times. And I could hear hip hop dancers breathing and hear the clothing swooshing because the music was too soft, and I was sitting in the very back at that time! Hip hop needs louder music! I’m not sure if it was the school sound system failing for such soft music, but a dance competition really should have their own speakers if that was the case. My final thoughts are on the judging/awards. Very few 24K were given out, which I think it’s a great thing. It’s good for the top to be rare, but everything else got a diamond. I’m not sure I heard of any platinums, maybe just one? And that is the crazy part. Why have platinum and silver if you are never going to use them. I can’t say anything to the media because it isn’t out yet, but I am glad it isn’t a dance bug one.
This competition was ran so well and the judges and emcee are so nice
This is our studio’s first time at ORO and we are all having a blast!
I am loving my first experience at Oro!!!
We loved the family feel of this competition and appreciated the master classes! Professional and much more than just choreo. Felt organized and not overbooked-thank you! All the "Oro" details did not go unnoticed. Golden tickets with free solos and winning cash were greatly appreciated. We felt the judges and staff were all down to earth, approachable, and kind. The stage lighting was better the second day-thank you for the adjustment. All the studios were supportive of each other and that is always better than the alternative. Our first time to Oro- we will definitely be back! Thank you for all your hard work. If I could give a suggestion to extend the time of the improv ;) and get the media back sooner-(its never soon enough)
Great competition!
Your guyses announcer is such a hoot. The environment is so welcoming and positive. Everyone is so supportive of others.
First year at this competition and already a favorite. Laid back and love that we can stay in the same location. Everything is centrally located to the competition which makes it super easy to find and get around between numbers. Can’t wait to come back next year!
We love the whole easy going vibe of the competition
This competition is very relaxed. I love the venue! First time at Oro! Fun!

Very well organized and love that it runs on time!
Well organized, easy to get around, happy workers and dancers:)

First Time at this competition! Super fun energy! Competition runs super smooth!
Beautiful venue and extremely friendly staff!
Oro seems so fresh! Great look, great venue, and seems well run! Thank you!
Run well, organized and has instant curb appeal
This is our first time, and the event has been so organized, and everyone has been so nice and helpful!
This is our first time attending Oro Dance Competition, and we have had a great experience. Everyone is incredibly friendly, and the staff are so organized and efficient. The event has ran smoothly with a well-thought-out setup, making it easy for our dancers to focus and enjoy the experience. We’re looking forward to coming back!
I love the vibe of ORO! The decor, apparel, color scheme is all so cool! My girls can’t wait to come back!
This competition has been so nice! The staff has been so kind and the day has run so smoothly. Great day!
The event staff has been overwhelmingly efficient, kind and accommodating! We have felt welcomed, calm and excited since we walked into the doors. We will be back!
Great organization! Very professional and fun!
Our studio really enjoyed Oro! We are a small studio, and our students felt seen and appreciated the whole weekend. The goodies they gave to the students were awesome, and the goodie bags and small gifts given to the studio owners/teachers throughout the weekend were a wonderful personal touch. The founder, Elizabeth Madera, was there all weekend, always available to ask questions, checking in, and generally involved which I don't know if I've seen before at competition. We haven't gotten the judges feedback and score cards yet, but we feel like our routines were judged fairly. One of our soloists and one of our small groups both placed in the top 5, and we were awarded the Costume Award for one of our other routines. The staff was wonderful, especially their MC, Miss Day (Miss D?) who made our students feel so seen and appreciated. There was playful banter between her and the students during awards and various breaks during the day, and they couldn't stop talking about how funny she was.
One of the competitions we all love; everyone was very kind and professional. Thank you for making our girls' dreams come true.
This was our first time at this event. It was well organized and it actually felt like we attended a competition. From the decorations, set up, stage, seats, employees! It really felt like everyone mattered. We didn't feel like we were just walking money for them. We will be adding this competition to our yearly schedule.
1. The Oro dance competition venue has been incredibly friendly, kind, and amazing, and their staff are truly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. It has been nothing but wonderful since the moment we arrived, and my dance students are having such an amazing time here. I’m so excited to come back again! As a bonus they have the best sweatshirts and shirts for dogs!! My puppy is gonna love it! We love you ORO!
ORO has been absolutely wonderful! For being only in their second year of competition, they are doing an amazing job. The organization, communication, and care they show for dancers and studios truly stand out. They go above and beyond to make sure dancers are taken care of and that studios feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout the event. We had a great experience and are so impressed with what they’ve built so far. We’re excited to continue attending in the future!
Oro Dance Competition made an amazing first impression and I had an incredible time at the Portland competition!!! I am so proud to be a part of the ORO Dance family! The competition environment was so positive, encouraging and inclusive. From handing out little treats to dancers, water backstage, the cutest photo booth, the funniest and friendliest director, Will, and the kindest founder, Elizabeth, no thought or detail was overlooked. I know this new competition will be a huge success and I am so excited to see ORO grow this year!! I loved every minute of my experience and sharing it with so many wonderful dancers. Until next time, ORO!! Can’t wait!! ✨💫🌟
So excited for this new competition! Included media, big plus. Password protected livestream, love that they’re keeping dancer safety in mind. Offering Master Classes, bonus! Looking forward to watching this company grow. We need more dancer focused competitions!
Beautiful!!
We loved Oro. It was very well run. We have seen some competitions that have been around for a while and didn't run this well. The awards are amazing too. The owner is very nice. They were also very responsive to emails.
Awesome organization and competition!
Excellent and very helpful staff
This event was spectacular! My daughters are Golden Ambassadors and they had such an amazing time. They loved the goodie bags they got and it was such a fun treat. It was so exciting meeting the other ambassadors. The staff and Elizabeth were all so kind and we loved how there was water backstage for dancers. The improv competition was so fun and we loved all the awesome awards! We can’t wait to see how Oro grows!
My daughter is a Golden Ambassador for Oro Dance Competition. She has had fun being an ambassador for them. She had an article written about her in their magazine and she received a fun goodie bag at the competition. The owner is very nice. The MC was well spoken and very nice. They were very organized, their merchandise was fun, their Photo area was fun with props, they passed out water bottles to the dancers, the awards were great for this being their first competition city. We received the scores and critiques for her solo right away and every judge’s video was very informative. We also love that pics and video are included. Can’t wait to get those. I would recommend this competition. It was already a success I can only imagine what next year will be like.
We had the best dance weekend experience at Oro. The competition environment is positive, encouraging and inclusive. Elizabeth, the founder is amazing and kind. Everything put together for the event was so thoughtful- water for the dancers and parents, treats for the ambassadors, photos. We cannot wait to for the next event. Thank you Oro!
Oro was the best dance competition we’ve ever been to from start to finish, from the welcoming and cheerful staff at the merch booth, Elizabeth walking around offering adorably wrapped chocolates or mints, the incredibly engaging and hilarious director Will, and the quick, fun way improv and judging was laid out, and even down to the tiny detail of bottled waters being provided for thirsty dancers backstage. Senior dancers are honored on stage for a picture and if you have a recent birthday that week you get a super cool swag bag with your own celebration on stage. We had a blast and will definitely be back! Oro, we love you!!
We loved Oro! The event ran very smoothly, the awards were cool, the judging seemed fair, communication was fantastic, and the event ran on time. There were so many great things about this event! And it was awesome especially being their very first event ever. Great job Oro! We can’t wait for next year!!
